New Years Eve 2013: 11am: Big Thunder Mountain at the Magic Kingdom – 120+ minute ride wait time. The park is mobbed with guests!!! Wall-to-wall people slowly walking around.
Both Caroline and I worked until closing on New Years Eve; Caroline at the Animal Kingdom (10pm) and me at Downtown Disney (2am). OMG…the crowds…unbelievable!!
Caroline took the E bus back to Chatham after work, but I drove back to the apartment after getting off at 2am. The traffic on Buena Vista was at a dead standstill, barely moving at all.
It took almost 2 hours to get home. I didn’t get to bed until 4am! What a longggg day.
Wait times for some Disney World rides hit up to five hours on New Year’s Eve.
10am, New Years Eve, local TV station reporting: Prospective Magic Kingdom guests are being turned away in what’s being reported as a “Phase 3 Closure” due to the already packed amounts of people inside. The Phase 3 Closure is described as the highest level of closure before closing down the entire park. Only annual-pass holders and hotel guests are being allowed inside.
